YOUR WEBSITES NAME
Welcome to the Ohio Valley Chapter (OVC)-AMWA Web site!

This Web site provides a single portal for information on your local chapter, including upcoming events, contact information for the current chapter officers, and recent/upcoming election updates and results.

OVC-AMWA was established in 1977. It was small in size but large in commitment from the early founders whose contributions of both time and talent grounded the organization in the AMWA practice standards and ethics that still stand today as the vanguard of the discipline of medical writing and editing. The chapter now comprises approximately 150 members that work and reside in 7 population centers of 4 states:  Columbus, Cincinnati, and Cleveland, Ohio; Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; Charleston, West Virginia; and Louisville and Lexington, Kentucky.

If you would like to learn more about AMWA and the OVC, or if you are already a member and would like to serve as a chapter officer, you can discuss these opportunities by selecting the Contact Officers option and sending an email request to any or all of those listed. We look forward to working with you in the years ahead to further the discipline of medical writing in the Ohio valley.

We are proud to acknowledge Eleanor Mayfield, ELS from Pittsburgh, PA, an AMWA member since 1989, who received the President’s Award this year at AMWA's 2017 Medical Writing & Communication Conference in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.
This award is given by the AMWA President to a member who has been with the association for at least 10 years. It honors that member’s distinctive contributions to the association at the chapter or national level. This award is among several that Eleanor has received over the years. You can learn more about her life’s work by visiting her professional profile on the amwa.org Website. Congratulations!
Attendees enjoyed the many offerings at the 2017 conference, which included several workshops and general sessions. AMWA-OVC members took a break and attended the annual Chapter Dinner event organized and hosted by Sarah Dobney, the Representative to the Chapter Advisory Council.
